Los Angeles Rams

After a successful stint as an assistant coach at Alabama, Howard Schnellenberger moved on to the NFL, taking a job as the ends coach for the Los Angeles Rams, coached by George Allen.

Schnellenberger remained with the Rams from 1966-69.

The Rams were 8-6 in Schnellenberger’s first season, but improved to 11-1-2 in 1967. In 1968, the Rams went 10-3-1 and in Schnellenberger’s final season, the Rams were 11-3 and quarterback Roman Gabriel, another in a long line of quarterbacks who deveopled under Schnellenberger was named MVP of the league.
